They shall say...
This place is too narrow for me;
make room for me, that I may live.
Vision Builders has always been about creating a future for our church, for our Sons & Daughters and our community. As we step out together and give to God, we create room for others and an altar for God to transform lives.
We are all Sons & Daughters looking for a home. God is looking for men and women willing to create a home for His Sons & Daughters, to connect with Him and each other. You and I are part of God’s magnificent church today because someone made room for us.
And yet there are still thousands, even millions in our city crying a cry heard by the ear of heaven –
“This place is too small for us; make room for us so that we may live.”
The call is ever upon us to make room for humanity. To create a home of faith, hope and love. This calls us to make room in our hearts. It calls us to make room in our homes and in our personal lives for others to come in and discover the love of God. And it’s a call to give with faith, sacrifice and commitment as a community to see His church expand. This is the heart of Vision Builders.
Vision Builders 2018 is an invitation to join with us in making room for others to live. Many of you have been extending heart and hand to do this for many years, and together with faith and patience we give again. Some of us are new to the journey, and this vision has captured your heart for the first time – welcome – there is no greater cause than the cause of Christ and building His church.
This year our giving continues for the purposes of adding to our savings for a deposit to buy our own building, facility and equipment upgrades and our Beyond Missions and media hub initiatives, making room for others to live and thrive.
The great joy of Vision Builders is that every one of us can be involved and give with a generous spirit. As we partner with heaven in this vision let us step into the future together and continue to make JESUS the centre of all we do, and make room for our Sons & Daughters to come to Christ.
With much love,
Ps Tim and Kirrily LoweSenior Ministers
What a man does in life becomes history, but what he puts into motion becomes his legacy.
- Paul Cole
We see our future in buildings that glorify God by providing a place for people to experience Jesus, be trained and equipped in His service.
We see places where our Sons & Daughters will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors; places where they can Believe, Belong, Become and Build their life in Christ. We are not only building facilities; we are building people, their lives, ministries and leaders to carry on the work of the Church for generations to come. As we join together in giving to God through Vision Builders, let us lift up our eyes and see the harvest set before us.
Over the years, Vision Builders funds have contributed to the expansion of our facilities and enabled us to secure more space and upgrade our Ministry Centre, which houses C3 Kids and our C3 College educational facilities and offices.
Our new website is part of our media hub that enables us to broadcast the message of the gospel and our worship albums around the world. It also allows us to increase our connection to you, our Vision Builders.
We are believing for a 500 seat air-conditioned auditorium in the heart of the city with the space to grow to 1,000. This would include a world class play facility where mums and kids can gather together during the week, a Café Connect bar where people can catch up with friends, a media hub, administration offices, plus ample room for youth activities and leadership training.
In addition to this, our savings for a deposit to buy our own building continues to grow.

We have a mandate to equip, educate and empower the next generation to preach the message of the Gospel to everyone.
As our ministry continues to grow, we are keen to secure a unique, tailor-made facility that houses and offers separate rooms for toddlers, pre-schoolers, primary aged children, youth, discipleship training, life courses and night college.
At C3 Kids we are passionate about building an environment in which children are educated about what it means to follow Christ and are empowered to lead their generation to Jesus. Our weekly programs are currently split into three age groups:
- Toddlers – 15mths to 3yrs old
- Preschool – 3yrs to 5yrs old
- Primary – Kindy to Year 5
Each age group’s weekly program incorporates a variety of age appropriate activities to stimulate and encourage C3 Kids to grow in their relationship with God and discover who God has designed them to be. Activities include craft, play zones, games, Bible stories and lessons, small groups and vibrant praise and worship specifically tailored for each age group. Our team of volunteers are trained to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all the children that participate in C3 Kids programs as well as teaching age appropriate biblical stories and concepts to help children grow and experience His love.
C3 City Youth is a vibrant gathering of young people aged between 12-18 years that come and experience the fullness of all that God has for them, whilst having an awesome time in the process. Through youth camps, special events, connect groups and Sunday services, it’s a place where lives are transformed, dreams are realised, and our youth are propelled into Christ’s purposes for the City of Sydney.
Night College / C3 College Online C3
City Night College is a hub of learning for people to delve deeper into the scriptures and grow as leaders in their faith. Our students will be empowered with a greater understanding of who God is, what He has done for us and be equipped to fulfil their potential, discovering a sense of purpose, knowledge and transformation. Night College allows the flexibility of studying whilst working full time.
Pathway to Grow Next Steps is our Discipleship Pathway designed to connect you with your purpose and help you grow in Christ. Over the course of four weeks we look at how to know God (Believe), find freedom and connection (Belong), discover your gifts and purpose (Become) and how you can make a difference in church (Build). Each step has been created to help you progress on your individual journey as you discover more about God, His house and who you are in Christ.
God calls us to take HIS love outside the walls of our church and into our community, both locally and globally. Through church planting, overseas missions and local Beyond projects, we extend God’s kingdom and display His love. We are blessed to be a blessing.
C3CARES is part of our Beyond: Missions ministry at C3 Church City. We help people in need, crisis or isolation in our local inner city community. Through the generosity of our C3 Church City members, we are able to bring a message of hope through practical support.
Weekly Community Lunch
Every Thursday, many of our city’s homeless and marginalised community members meet at C3 Church City for a free nutritious lunch. In an atmosphere of grace, love and acceptance, our guests have a place where they can belong, enjoy a delicious meal, connect with each other and chat with our C3CARES team. Team members share the gospel through love in action, coming alongside our guests one-to-one offering prayer and assistance. Various speakers have also shared a short message of hope with the group. This year we’ve served over 3,500 meals, provided many with emergency relief food hampers, new clothing and every month people receive Christ.
“This food is better than anywhere else around here - it’s real and fresh and comes with a smile. I came here for food but I didn’t expect anyone to pray for me. That’s really nice. Thanks.”
– one of our homeless guests
Our C3CARES Community Christmas Lunch is becoming quite well known in our area, and last year we welcomed to church over 100 members of our local community who are homeless, in crisis, or lonely, to celebrate Christmas together. Around 35 of our church members volunteered on the day to come and bless our community, serving and mingling with our guests as they feasted on a gourmet meal, took part in giveaways and enjoyed a live performance of Christmas carols. After listening to a message of hope, many guests responded to receive Christ as their Saviour and were open to receive prayer. Every guest received a generous hamper gift of food and essential items.
Christmas Gifts and Hampers
Last Christmas, thanks to our church’s generous giving, we gave over 320 gifts and food hampers to those in our local community and beyond who need to feel God’s love in a tangible way, especially at this time of year. Our recipients included: Prince of Wales Children’s Hospital (remote Aboriginal children in hospital over Christmas); Women’s Space (outreach to local street-based sex workers); C3 Cebu (children’s education packs); members of our local and Woolloomooloo communities in crisis; and C3 Church City members in need.
“When one of our clients was presented with the gift pack generously given by a member of C3 Church City, she became completely overwhelmed at first just by the beautiful wrapping, and sat stunned for several minutes almost in tears. As she unwrapped each little gift within the gift bag, she marvelled at how perfect each gift was for her. The tears flowed and she remarked seven or eight times how blessed, relaxed and happy she felt. She said, “If you don’t have love what do you have?” This last year has seen her experience quite a lot of grief, abuse, and instability, and she told us that day that she has so much to be grateful for. Thank you everyone at C3 for extending generosity with such beauty and grace.”

“Thank you. You have no idea how much your food hamper helped our family...really.”

Hope Burger Sunday
At our annual Hope Burger Sunday, church members were given the opportunity to purchase a Hope Burger cooked by our C3 CARES Dream Team resulting in us raising over $7,500 dollars for our Community Lunch and various local community initiatives.
This year, C3 Church City partnered with The Humpty Dumpty Foundation and C3 Cyclists who are a passionate community of cyclists from various C3 Churches around Australia. The mandate is to demonstrate the gospel in a practical way by raising funds to save young lives. In March this year fourteen cyclists rode 675kms from Canberra to Sydney, via Cooma, and raised over $45,000. Through The Humpty Dumpty Foundation this money purchased four pieces of lifesaving medical equipment for Cooma, Bega and Fairfield hospitals.
The cyclists finished their ride here at C3 Church City on a Sunday morning where we celebrated with them with the presentation of a cheque to The Humpty Dumpty Foundation and Dr Laurence McCleary from Fairfield Hospital. Dr McCleary was surprised on the day to find the cyclists exceeded their fund raising goal of $40,000 and presented Fairfield Hospital with an extra piece of equipment.
Over the last seven years, C3 Cyclists have raised over $200,000 for The Humpty Dumpty Foundation, making them the second largest provider of essential life-saving medical equipment for sick and injured children in pediatric wards, neonatal wards, maternity and emergency departments in hospital rooms across Australia.
Well done Pastor Arne Olander who was a founding member of C3 Cyclists and championed the cause representing C3 Church City once again.
South Asia Region: India, Pakistan, Sri-Lanka
The region of South Asia has a population of two billion people, which encompasses 25% of the worlds population. 50% of these are under 25 years of age. C3 has 28 churches in the region, with many more in the planning stage.
Over the past 6 years, Ps Tim and Kirrily have had a heart to reach this massive harvest, a focus for our Beyond Global Missions as overseers of C3 Mumbai and C3 Hyderabad. In partnership with Ps Richard and Sue Botta, the C3 Regional Overseers for South Asia, Ps Tim and Kirrily annually provide leadership and mentoring to pastors, leaders and business people.
In October 2016, Ps Tim and Kirrily, Bek Gould and Gary Compton gathered with over 200 pastors and leaders for the C3 South Asia Regional Conference in Hyderabad, to inspire, encourage and train pastors and leaders. Pastors were empowered in many areas including ministry, business, youth, marriage and family, and worship master classes. Two new church planters were identified and are being planted from this conference. Ps Kirrily and Bek Gould assisted Ps Rachel Waters in launching C3 Mumbai’s first woman’s event - Woven, featuring the garment of Strength and Dignity from The Invisible She Collection, teaching women the principles of being clothed in Christ. The event was a great success with over 100 women attending which included many unchurched women of influence from the Bollywood community. This was the first time to church for many of these women, who were deeply impacted by this unique presentation of the gospel.
We saw many men and women from all different backgrounds come into relationship with Christ during this trip. The Beyond:Missions funds contributed towards these events.
In June 2016, eight concurrent training intensives were held in Amalapuram, Hyderabad, Pune, Siliguri and Udaipur in India, Colombo and Kandy in Sri Lanka, and Kathmandu in Nepal for over 200 pastors and their teams, bringing biblical teaching, ministry and leadership skills, plus much needed personal support to the participants. C3 Church City will again be supporting the work in South Asia from our Beyond:Missions Vision Builders funds.
If you would like to know more, be a part of one of our short term teams, provide support to one of these training events, provide administrative or prayer support to the work in South Asia, then please contact the Church office.
Philippines In July 2016, Diana Beugeling and Alison Hayes led a team including Lindsay Macpherson and Sally Shaw in partnership with Ps Lars Halverson from C3 Darwin on a trip to serve C3 Cebu in the Philippines. Over 7 days the team continued to establish feeding programs in the slums area, ran children’s church services, developed young leaders, distributed education packs to many of the children, helped to renovate the church facilities and met with many of Cebu’s homeless, giving them food and water. They also travelled to typhoon affected areas and distributed building equipment to help people rebuild their homes that had been damaged.
We have now been working in Cebu for over ten years and one of our original mission’s trip team member was Ps Ian Haigh who now runs C3 Cebu with his wife Janet (originally sent from C3 Church City). The church has grown to over 150 members and continues to pray and believe for its own building. We are so excited to continue working alongside C3 Cebu, to see it grow.
Child Action Lanka
Sri Lanka In 2002 C3 Church City sent Ps Dilshan Edirisinghe to Kandy, Sri Lanka. Dilshan was one of the original C3 College students on team who planted C3 Church City with Ps Tim. Along with his wife Debbie, they have pioneered and grown an educational centre providing food, clothing, education and medical treatment to now over 1,500 homeless children every day in the city of Kandy.
In 10 years they have been able to expand into five cities/regions across the country; Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Kelaniya, Killinochchi and Batticaloa.
In their city of Kandy, children begging on the streets has been reduced by 95% and is almost eliminated. They have been recognised and awarded by the city’s Governor and Prime Minister who stated in a recent meeting that Child Action Lanka is making history and is amazed at the success they have had in transforming children’s lives. Some of the children have now graduated from university as teachers, nurses, real estate agents, lawyers and community workers on team at Child Action Lanka.
Child Action Lanka’s projects focus on building and empowering the underprivileged and war affected children. They strengthen and partner with local coordinators, through capacity building, providing resources, and sharing expertise, creating an environment in which these children are exposed to opportunities, helping them be the best they can be.
They have established key programs such as: feeding and nutrition, fun and recreation, rehabilitation and mental relaxation, and education. The centres have given these children the opportunity and possibility to change the outcome of their lives and that of their families and community. A chance to see ‘genuine transformation for the next generation.’
C3 Church City, along with other C3 churches have partnered with Child Action Lanka for many years. The need to work with children, our next generation, remains huge. Almost every household in Sri Lanka has suffered the death of at least one family member, and in most cases even more. Many children have been seriously injured and left disabled and orphaned. It’s exciting what God is doing through them and their future is promising.
The Big Picture
C3 Global has a vision to plant 1,000 locations by the year 2020.
Over the last 17 years, C3 Church City has played its role in raising up leaders to release which has included Dilshan Edirisinghe to C3 Kandy Sri Lanka in 2002, Ian Haigh to C3 Cebu in 2011, Ming Lai to C3 Hong Kong in 2012, Lars and Megan Halvorsen to C3 Darwin in 2012 and Karen and Roger Beard to C3 Great Lakes in 2014.
Our Next Steps Pathways provides a path to help make disciples and grow leaders to see this vision become a reality. Church planting requires those who are consistent in faith, and are planted and flourishing in the house of God. We believe that they have been called to this critical area of building the kingdom of God on earth. To effectively plant new churches, we need funds to release ministry, secure buildings and facilities and buy equipment.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.
Every year we jointly commit to the task of resourcing the vision that God has given us. When we work together in unity we can build something that enables God to reach the world and be reconciled to him.
What is the vision Builders program?
The Vision Builders program is the overarching banner for our building, Beyond Missions, and Media and Online Initiatives. Vision Builders raises the funds to expand all of these areas of our church life.
Can I give to Vision Builders instead of Tithing?
Vision Builders should be seen as giving ‘over and above’ the Tithes.
What if I can't fulfill my pledge?
Firstly, we encourage people to make realistic pledges. Having done that, we understand that sometimes events happen and for whatever reason people find difficulty in fulfilling their pledge within the time frame. We suggest that you may still want to fulfill your pledge by breaking it down into smaller amounts over a longer period of time.
I am new to church, should I be giving to Vision Builders? If so, why?
There is no pressure for anyone to give to Vision Builders, nor is there any minimum requirement. New people who would like to give are most welcome, as is anyone who finds that our vision resonates with them.
I am in significant debt, should I pay off my debts or give to Vision Builders?
If you are in ‘out of control’ debt, after your tithe the debt should be your next priority. Reducing the debt to a manageable amount (or even clearing it completely) should be attempted.
Do you need my details? I wish to remain anonymous.
You may remain anonymous if you wish, and all the details of your giving will be kept confidential. However, you will not be able to claim tax deductibility for your giving as we will be unable to provide you with a record ofyour contribution, which you will need to submit to the Australian Tax Office.
How are Vision Builders funds spent
All money raised by Vision Builders, is deposited into the Vision Builders Foundation bank account. From that account, money is allocated as follows:
- Buildings and facilities. The primary purpose of Vision Builders is to provide space to equip, educate and empower all generations. We are continuing to save for a deposit to buy our own building, while making facility upgrades as required to our existing rented premises.
- Beyond:Missions. Money is allocated to both local and global programs for such things as provision of food, clothing, shelter, medical care, emergency relief and planting of additional C3 churches (including leadership development initiatives).
- Media. Our desire is to broadcast the gospel message to the world. To support this, funds are allocated to our media activities which include worship recordings, website, podcasts etc.
- Administration. The cost of administering the fund including accounting, auditing and fundraising costs are deducted from the account. All C3 Church City accounts are independently audited annually to ensure legal requirements are met and are lodged with ASIC.
Choose your method of fulfilment
This is one of the most successful ways to fulfil your commitment by making a regular, weekly, or monthly contribution. Regular giving is rewarding and quickly builds as illustrated in the table below:
This can be arranged through your employer or bank. You can also arrange regular payments via internet banking. Alternatively, you can choose to make a payment from money currently available or when you receive a work bonus, tax refund, or via an asset sale.
This is a popular way of giving. Please visit our giving page. Select ‘Click Here to Give’, then ‘Vision Builders (Deductible or Non-Deductible)’, complete the information required and continue by clicking on ‘Next’.
You can arrange with your employer to make a deduction from your salary each pay before tax.
