They shall say...
This place is too narrow for me;
make room for me, that I may live.

Isaiah 49:20

Dear Church,

Welcome to Vision Builders ‘FAITHFUL’ for 2019.

Vision Builders has always been about creating a FUTURE for church, children and community.

It is an invitation to join TOGETHER in this incredible vision to reach our city for Christ and create room for a harvest of souls. A community of people experiencing the love of Jesus. Building the church in the heart of our city.

For some of us the journey has been going for many years and we have seen the faithfulness of God enable us to do all that we do - educating, equipping and training the leaders of tomorrow TODAY. For others, the journey has just begun, and we are so excited to welcome you on this adventure building God’s beautiful house.

We have discovered that God-seekers always become God-builders. We encourage you to please pray and ask God how you can be involved.

Our Vision Builders Commitments Dinner is a time where we as a church celebrate all that He has done transforming lives and make a fresh commitment together for the future of our church.

Your giving enables us to continue to save for a deposit to purchase our own facility as well as help to maintain our current facilities and equipment upgrades and online media broadcasting.

Vision Builders also funds our weekly C3 Cares Community Lunch that feeds thousands of homeless and marginalised in our city each year whilst sharing the love of God and encouragement from His Word.

Our vision continues to expand His Kingdom beyond our walls around the world, partnering with other C3 Churches across the globe, establishing new locations, planting churches and C3 Cares Ministries.

The greatest thing about Vision Builders is that every single one of us can be involved. As we celebrate our 19th year as a church, ‘Let us hold fast, unswervingly and resolutely to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful’. (Hebrews 10:23)

Let’s be encouraged, challenged and inspired as we read the stories and updates of all we are building together. We stand with you in prayer believing for God’s favor and provision as we engage as Vision Builders.

With much love,

Ps Tim and Kirrily Lowe

Senior Ministers

Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in His eyes. Fix your heart on the promises of God and you will be secure, feasting on His faithfulness.

PSALM 37:3 (TPT)

We see our future in buildings that glorify God by providing a place for people to experience Jesus, be trained and equipped in His service.

We see our future in buildings that glorify God by providing a place for people to experience Jesus and be trained and equipped in His service.

We see places where our Sons and Daughters will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors; places where they can know God and Believe, find community and Belong, discover purpose and Become all that God has created them to be, and Build their life in Christ. We are not only building facilities; we are building families, people, ministries and leaders, to carry the vision of the Church for generations to come.

As we work together in giving to God through Vision Builders, let us lift up our eyes and see the harvest set before us.

Over the years, Vision Builders funds have contributed to the expansion of our facilities and enabled us to secure more space and upgrade our Ministry Centre, which houses C3 Kids, C3 Youth and our C3 Night College educational facilities and offices.

Our website is part of our Media Hub that enables us to broadcast the message of the gospel. It also enables us to increase our connection to you, our Vision Builders.

We are believing for a 500-seat air-conditioned auditorium in the heart of the city with the space to grow to 1,000. This would include a world class play facility where mums and kids can gather together during the week, a Café Connect bar where people can catch up with friends, a media hub, administration offices, plus ample room for youth activities and leadership training.

We have a mandate to equip, educate and empower the next generation to preach the message of the Gospel to everyone.

As our ministry continues to grow, we are keen to secure a unique, tailor-made facility that houses and offers separate rooms for toddlers, pre-schoolers, primary aged children, youth, discipleship training, life courses and night college.

C3 Kids

At C3 Kids, we are passionate about building an environment that is fun, safe and full of God where children are educated about what it means to follow Christ and are empowered to lead their generation to Jesus. Our volunteers are trained to ensure safety and wellbeing, whilst providing a variety of age appropriate activities, biblical stories and concepts to stimulate and encourage C3 Kids to grow in their relationship with God, experience His love, and discover who God has designed them to be.

  1. Toddlers – 15mths to 3yrs old
  2. Preschool – 3yrs to 5yrs old
  3. Primary – Kindy to Year 5

C3 Youth

C3 City Youth is a vibrant, fun-loving gathering of young people aged 12-18 years, that come together to experience the fullness of all that God has for them, whilst having an awesome time in the process! We’ve seen so many amazing friendships formed and individual growth in our youths, through youth camps, connect groups, Friday night services and Sunday sessions. It’s a place where lives are transformed, leaders of tomorrow are developed, dreams are realized, and our youths are propelled into Christ’s purposes for the City of Sydney.

Night College / C3 College Online C3

C3 Night College is a hub of learning for people to delve deeper into the scriptures and grow as leaders in their faith. Students are empowered with a greater understanding of who God is, what He has done for us and be equipped and empowered to fulfil their potential in the marketplace, community and ministry, discovering a sense of purpose, knowledge and transformation. C3 Night College allows the flexibility of studying whilst working full time. Over the last year, we have seen 53 people attend and we are believing that this will continue to grow.

Next Steps

Our Next Steps Discipleship Pathway connects people with their purpose and helps them grow in Christ. Over four weeks we look at how to know God (Believe), find freedom and connection (Belong), discover our gifts and purpose (Become) and make a difference in our church (Build). Each step has been created to help progress the individual’s journey and discover more about God, His house and who we are in Christ. Since its beginning, we have seen over 120 people complete our Next Steps Pathway, with many now planted and serving in the church.

God calls us to take HIS love outside the walls of our church and into our community, both locally and globally. Through church planting, overseas missions and local Beyond projects, we extend God’s kingdom and display His love. We are blessed to be a blessing.

Beyond Local

C3 Cares is part of our local ‘Beyond: Missions’ ministry. We help people in need, crisis or isolation in our local inner-city community. Through your generosity, we bring a message of hope through practical support including food, clothing, medical and crisis accommodation through our benevolent necessities fund. Over the past year, we have developed a stronger relationship with Coles, and have gained access to literal truckloads of groceries. In December alone we received and distributed 23 free pallet loads of food!

We have extended our reach and are now supporting:

  • Salvation Army Transformation Centre Dooralong Valley
  • WHO's Rehabilitation Centre Rozelle and Cessnock
  • Community Restorative Centre
  • Youth and Family Connect Charity Woolloomooloo
  • Hope Street Charity
  • Women's Space for Street Workers Woolloomooloo
  • Kathleen York House Glebe
  • Lou's Place Women's Refuge Kings Cross
  • Prince of Wales Children's Hospital Randwick
  • Salt Light Church Nowra
  • Broadway Anglican Church Waterloo
  • Liberty Church Newcastle
  • C3 Cares Tuggerah
  • C3 Cares Central City
  • C3 Cares Silverwater

Christmas Gifts and Hampers

Last Christmas, thanks to your generous giving, we provided over 350 hampers, gifts and food vouchers to those in our local community and beyond who need to feel God’s love in a tangible way, especially at this time of year. Our recipients included many of the above-mentioned charities.

Christmas Lunch

Our C3 Cares Community Christmas Lunch has become well known in our area, and last year we welcomed over 100 members of our local community who are homeless, in crisis, or lonely, to celebrate Christmas together. 35 church members volunteered on the day to serve and bless our community. Guests enjoyed a gourmet meal and live Christmas carols, and received a generous hamper gift of food and essential items. After listening to a message of hope, many guests responded to receive Christ as their Saviour.

Weekly Community Lunch

Every Thursday, homeless and marginalized community members meet at C3 Church City as a place where they can belong, enjoy a free delicious nutritious meal, connect with each other and chat with our C3 Cares team in an atmosphere of grace, love and acceptance. Speakers share a short message of hope, and the C3 Cares team share the gospel through love in action, offering prayer and assistance to our guests. This year, we’ve served over 3,500 meals, provided emergency relief food hampers, and new clothing, and every month people receive Christ.

Beyond Global

With a population of 1.9 billion people, South Asia encompasses 25% of the world’s population, and 50% of these are under 25 years of age. C3 has 25 churches in the region, with many more in the planning stage. Since 2010, Pastors Tim and Kirrily have had a heart to reach this massive harvest and this region has been a focus for C3 City’s Beyond: Global Missions, including overseeing Pastors Ryan and Rachel Waters and C3 Mumbai - India.
In partnership with Pastors Richard and Sue Botta (C3 Global Regional Directors for South Asia), Pastors Tim and Kirrily annually provide leadership and mentoring to pastors, leaders and businesspeople in this region. Over 350 Pastors and Leaders will be impacted by our efforts in South Asia as we bring biblical teaching, ministry and leadership skills, plus much needed personal support.

The Big Picture

C3 Global has a vision to plant 1,000 locations by the year 2020.

Over the last 17 years, C3 Church City has played its role in raising up leaders to release which has included Dilshan Edirisinghe to C3 Kandy Sri Lanka in 2002,  Ian Haigh to C3 Cebu in 2011, Ming Lai to C3 Hong Kong in 2012, Lars and Megan Halvorsen to C3 Darwin in 2012 and Karen and Roger Beard to C3 Great Lakes in 2014.

Our Next Steps Pathways provides a path to help make disciples and grow leaders to see this vision become a reality. Church planting requires those who are consistent in faith, and are planted and flourishing in the house of God. We believe that they have been called to this critical area of building the kingdom of God on earth. To effectively plant new churches, we need funds to release ministry, secure buildings and facilities and buy equipment.

Our Stories

Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.

Essential Info

Every year we jointly commit to the task of resourcing the vision that God has given us. When we work together in unity we can build something that enables God to reach the world and be reconciled to him.

What is the vision Builders program?

The Vision Builders program is the overarching banner for our building, Beyond Missions, and Media and Online Initiatives. Vision Builders raises the funds to expand all of these areas of our church life.

Can I give to Vision Builders instead of Tithing?

Vision Builders should be seen as giving ‘over and above’ the Tithes.

What if I can't fulfill my pledge?

Firstly, we encourage people to make realistic pledges. Having done that, we understand that sometimes events happen and for whatever reason people find difficulty in fulfilling their pledge within the time frame. We suggest that you may still want to fulfill your pledge by breaking it down into smaller amounts over a longer period of time.

I am new to church, should I be giving to Vision Builders? If so, why?

There is no pressure for anyone to give to Vision Builders, nor is there any minimum requirement. New people who would like to give are most welcome, as is anyone who finds that our vision resonates with them.

I am in significant debt, should I pay off my debts or give to Vision Builders?

If you are in ‘out of control’ debt, after your tithe the debt should be your next priority. Reducing the debt to a manageable amount (or even clearing it completely) should be attempted.

Do you need my details? I wish to remain anonymous.

You may remain anonymous if you wish, and all the details of your giving will be kept confidential. However, you will not be able to claim tax deductibility for your giving as we will be unable to provide you with a record ofyour contribution, which you will need to submit to the Australian Tax Office.

How are Vision Builders funds spent

All money raised by Vision Builders, is deposited into the Vision Builders Foundation bank account. From that account, money is allocated as follows:

  1. Buildings and facilities. The primary purpose of Vision Builders is to provide space to equip, educate and empower all generations. We are continuing to save for a deposit to buy our own building, while making facility upgrades as required to our existing rented premises.
  2. Beyond:Missions. Money is allocated to both local and global programs for such things as provision of food, clothing, shelter, medical care, emergency relief and planting of additional C3 churches (including leadership development initiatives).
  3. Media. Our desire is to broadcast the gospel message to the world. To support this, funds are allocated to our media activities which include worship recordings, website, podcasts etc.
  4. Administration. The cost of administering the fund including accounting, auditing and fundraising costs are deducted from the account. All C3 Church City accounts are independently audited annually to ensure legal requirements are met and are lodged with ASIC.
